‘Palistan’ Mulberry trees are super easy to grow in Phoenix. I never need to fertilize them or use any pesticides. They can be pruned to any size you want in the winter when they are dormant. For those with allergies you’ll be happy to know that ‘Pakistan’ produces absolutely no pollen.

Free Succulent Propagation class tomorrow. Seeds, cuttings, even grafting. If you would like to come it starts tomorrow at 9am. Bring a lawn chair if you have one. I have some but not sure what the turnout will be.

Hey, you free Sunday?! 8-4pm come down to the farm for our first ever Holiday Farm’s Open House! Free entry and free propagating class at 9-10am. We have everything from tiny cacti to huge statement trees and cacti for your yard. Feel free to walk through the entire back half of the farm to see what plants speak to you!

Hedgehog cactus are blooming. The pink one’s flower is bigger than the plant!!! I’ll have lots of beautiful flowering cactus at the Uptown Farmers Market tomorrow. It will be hot but that’s when these guys shine.

This is why i never spray insecticide for aphids. If I don’t spray and be patient these three friends will come and help me get rid of them. First aphids then predators, then wash off plants and back to normal. The whole cycle takes a month or 2. First pic is a green lacewing larvae (red circle) and lots of tan colored aphids already parasitized by a tiny wasp. The last 2 pics are ladybug larvae and adults.

SAVE THE DATE! We are having Holiday Farm’s first ever open house on March 29th 8am-4pm. We have tons of plants that have never been seen by the public that we want to showcase and sell! We will also be doing a class on how to propagate succulents and cactus from 9-10am. If you’ve been wanting to spruce up your yard for spring or just add to your collection, this is the event for you 😉

Give them flowers that will bloom again EVERY Valentine’s day. This plant is ‘Valentine’ emu bush and it is easy to grow in Phoenix. 1 gal plants for $15 ea

At the Uptown Farmers Market today, I will have unique varieties of citrus fruit and plants that attract hummingbirds. Like this one that had to get a last drink in while I was loading my truck yesterday!

Interested in plants that not only look beautiful but can make you feel better? Elephant’s food and Arabian Jasmine both grow amazing in our desert climate and have various different uses. Both of these plants do great in a pot or in the ground! These will be at the Uptown Farmers Market tomorrow 8-1pm at the Holiday Farms booth!
