A Dedication To The Departed

One time a year, our departed come back to celebrate with us.

Dia De Los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) is a two-day holiday that reunites the living and dead. Families create ofrendas (Offerings) to honor their deceased family members.

Bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and favorite foods and drinks decorate the altars of the ones being honored.

The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear their prayers, smell their foods, and join in the celebrations!

The Day of the Dead is a different holiday for celebrating death and life, and it is the opportunity to honor and remember our departed loved ones.
