The wait is over… here’s your official vendor map for the Downtown Vandalia Farmer’s Market this Saturday! 🙌

With 14 amazing vendors joining us, you’ll find everything from fresh produce and baked goods to flowers, coffee, handmade items, and more. Plan your route, mark your must-stops, and get ready to shop local!

👨‍👩‍👧 Bring the kids! We’ll have fun activities including:
🌱 Seed planting with Fayette County Farm Bureau
🌱 Seed bomb activity with Fayette County 4-H
📖 9:30 AM – Kids story time: “The Tiny Seed”

🛍️ Plus, the Vandalia Picker’s Market will also be happening along Gallatin Street from 8:00 AM–2:00 PM — so come ready to shop and explore!

Monday is almost here, but we are already looking ahead to next weekend for our first market of the season!

There are 14 great vendors joining us and we have some great activities for the whole family!

🌱 seed bomb activity with Fayette County 4-H
🪏 planting table with Fayette County Farm Bureau - Illinois
📖 story time at 9:30am with Miss Perry; reading The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle

All activities will be from 8am-12pm with story time just at 9:30am.

The countdown is on for the first Downtown Vandalia Farmer’s Market of the season, and we are so excited to welcome you back!

The Fayette County Farm Bureau - Illinois will be there with a hands-on activity for kids to plant their own seeds and learn how things grow — a perfect way to kick off the season!
The Fayette County 4-H will have a Seed Bomb kid's activity as well as the reading of the story "Tiny Seed" by Farmers' Market Committee member Allison at 9:30am!

VENDOR SPOTLIGHT 📢

🌱 Mitchell’s Produce Stand
This year they plan to bring lots of fresh produce including: different sizes of tomatoes, all kinds of peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, watermelon and cantaloupe. They also will have flower hanging baskets (just in time for Mother’s Day!!) and mums toward the fall market dates.

We are so excited for them to be joining the market and bringing their fresh produce and flowers!

We’re getting closer to the first market date and we have some really great vendors lined up! Be on the lookout for more vendor spotlights and other market information.

Join the Vandalia, Illinois Farmers’ Market! ✨🧑🏻‍🌾

We are looking for vendors for our 2026 market season. If you’re a farmer, baker, maker, or something in between; we would love to have you join us this year. Applications are still open and paper copies are available at City Hall.

📅 Our market will run from May through October and be held the second Saturday of every month (with two dates in June!) from 8am-12pm.

Don’t wait to sign up! Spots are still available, but could fill up fast.

This weather has us all excited for spring and we are ready for the market season to be here. We are growing and expanding this year with things like kids activities, live music, cool collaborations, and more. We cannot wait!

🇺🇸 America Turns 250 — Let’s Celebrate Together in Vandalia! 🇺🇸

In 2026, the United States will celebrate its 250th Birthday (the Semiquincentennial), and the City of Vandalia wants this to be a true community-wide celebration.

📋 Pictured below is our America 250 Event Submission & Support Form — this is how businesses, organizations, non-profits, schools, and community groups can share events they’re planning or ideas they’d like to explore.

Using the form, you can:
✔ Submit event details for promotion on City websites and pages
✔ Request planning, marketing, or logistical assistance
✔ Inquire about financial or in-kind support
