Meeting of the Milkmaids photo dump!

A few weeks back, I was lucky enough to attend the fourth annual Meeting of the Milkmaids gathering. I was an attendee of the inaugural gathering a few years back, and WOW it was so impressive to see how the group has grown and matured in just a few short years. The community and camaraderie of the milkmaids is really something special.

This year’s speakers were my fav cheese witch and the formidable world champ cheesemonger . Holy cow, what a duo. I’m working on a Substack post about my takeaways from their presentations. So many incredible insights shared ✨

It was so wonderful to gather with this community of likeminded cheese nerds, enjoy the awesome venue provided by , reconnect with friends, and taste a fabulous spread of cheeses! Here’s to many more gatherings 👏

Art of the Snack Plate photo dump! Last month, I was lucky enough to facilitate an event series in partnership with that celebrated the ritual and artistry of SNACKING.

CSU Monger Tour Recap! Hook’s Cheese Co.

Someone in our group said “Tony Hook has forgotten more about cheese than I’ll ever hope to learn!” and I share that sentiment wholeheartedly.

The facility is built into the side of a hill, embodying the badger-like mining history of Mineral Point. They make a wide variety of cheeses (61 different cheeses currently on their website!) using milk from local cows, sheep, and goats. Tony showed us around the make room, the aging rooms, and the cavernous distribution/storage room where the little vacuum packed cheeses await their destiny in cardboard boxes. We had an awesome tasting and I took home a few award-winning hunks!
