Our fridge is now stocked!

I switched everything over from our old fridge into our new one, I even had room to add our drinks and some fruit that would have otherwise been on the counter!

I am so happy with it!

I decided to angle it towards the kitchen rather than having it flat against the wall.

Brooklyn is already loving her lower snack drawer🧀🍎🍊🍉

Also, I've got half a head of cabbage to use up before it goes bad, I've only cooked cabbage once and it wasn't the best. All that to say... what is your favorite way to eat cabbage?

I kinda like Brooklyns layout better now that I've gotten used to it!

06/08/2026

I'd need 20 plants to keep up with Brooklyns berry addiction🍓😂

Would your rather have the everbearing or June bearing strawberries?

Fridge delivery is a day earlier than I had scheduled...

I'm glad it's here though! They were a little worried to cross our culverts. I had drove down in the buggy to talk to them. I could see them parked before our 2nd culvert. One of the delivery men was walking to the house to come talk to me about the issue and had just past Blaines chicken house. I told him we've had full dump trucks and other heavy equipment go over the culverts just fine.

I asked if he wanted a ride down to the delivery truck (it is VERY humid today). I think he was pretty happy to get a buggy ride, he told me it was beautiful here and he loved the chickens roaming about.

They had to take the bottom freezer drawer off for it to fit through our house door. It only took 25min from the time I'd seen them waiting down in the driveway to the time they left.

The delivery drivers did an excellent job! I don't know if they were Lowe's Home Improvement drivers or an outside party, but either way they were very efficient👏

I had to leave the house no later than 1pm to get to a doctor's appointment, they left out of here with 5 minutes to spare!

🍓We've gotten our 1st strawberry!

I'm going to let Brooklyn have the honor of picking it. She's asked several times to pick it these last couple of days when it was only light pink. She's also wanted to pick the blueberry off of the bush (still green)!😂

She's done good waiting for this moment!

We got these everbearing strawberry plants 3wks ago while on our Amish country trip.

When I've got broody hens, I don't consider my eggs safe to eat if I haven't collected them the same day they were layed. Hence, the reason we are tossing these eggs for the dogs and chickens running around to clean up. It's a good source of protein for them. Anything they don't eat, the crick will wash away.

Brooklyn loves cracking and throwing eggs😅 any eggs that are broken, we give to her. Sometimes she'll make a potion with them, other times she'll toss them around.

After this, we played fetch with a chicken egg. The dogs loved it!

A tractor makes a task like this a whole lot easier!

The orange work bench will be going in our garage (hopefully soon)

The piece of equipment attached to the back of the tractor is the disc mower for cutting hay.

The piece of equipment being unloaded from the trailer is a tedder. It's used to 'fluff' the hay and helps in the drying process.

We need about 1,200+ square bales & 200+ round bales to split between 4 families to be able to feed our livestock hay through the winter months.

Round baling takes 1 person usually, but in this case, this is the first field of the year being round baled. We're mostly there for moral support and incase something was to break. It's also a good idea to have someone there watching the person on the tractor incase there would be an accident or injury.

Anytime Blaines operating equipment I am adamant about making sure I can see him! Even if it's just him using the riding mower to mow our grass (he gets a little to close to the crick bank for my liking), accidents can happen!

We got 3 round bales from this field, the hay was a little thin, but the cows will still eat it! We won't need these bales until fall/winter.

Most of the fields we square and round bale are our neighbors fields who graciously allows us to cut the hay. We appreciate them all so much!!

A simple evening for us

There's not a single day in the year that looks that exact same around here. We always have something different every day that needs done or worked on.

This is the longer video without text, I'll be posting the smaller videos of each 'task' with explanation of what's going on.

I usually don't see much on this hillside because of how close our house is to it, but I just happened to be sitting on the couch at the perfect angle to see outside of the window. Nature's great🐿

We should be seeing deer roaming about with their babies soon🥰🦌
