Rain, wind or Shine Rod Farm Market will be open normal hours this weekend and the petting zoo will be available for visiting. We will have a selection of baked goods from Delightful Desserts, and a nice variety of sourdough breads, sweet breads including a new flavor, ( zucchini, cranberry, walnut, chocolate chip), sourdough cinnamon rolls, sourdough blueberry buckle, sourdough chocolate chip cookies, and my daughters made a small batch of shamrock sugar cookie cut outs in honor of our upcoming trip to the 4h state fair! The proceeds from their cookies goes directly to them to have some spending money at the fair! They each won state fair delegate on their quilts.

The freezer is stocked with beef and pork, the fridge is stocked with farm fresh eggs!

Also a reminder we will start hosting classes again this fall. We have a canning class on Friday August 21st at 5pm that we still have space available. Come learn how to can salsa and go home with a jar. $35. Must pre pay, message me to sign up!

I have a greater appreciation today for Tara with Holy Grain. I did not order bread from her this week due to not having time to go and pick up, so I baked this weeks sandwich loaves myself and talk about nerve wracking to slice it all as evenly as possible! I know many have commented they like the sandwich loaves for multiple reasons but one for them already being sliced!

I ordered a restock of coffee from the Seven Weeks Coffee company. Seven Weeks is a pro life company and they donate 10% of their sales to pregnancy centers across the States. Their coffee is clean 3rd party tested for mold, shade grown, sourced from small farmers, and roasted in small batches.

I saw that they had smaller bags of beans, perfect for trying before investing in a larger bag or for gifting so I ordered some of those. I was also asked if I could get expresso beans, and yes they have them, so I ordered a couple bags of those as well and more of rhe keurig pods. These will all be available this weekend for purchase.

We did not have any response for our pop up canning class, however I know based on a poll I took a few months ago that there was a fair amount of interest in us offering a canning class. So we have another date that Kristina would be willing to come to the market and teach how to can salsa. The class will be $35. This class is one to watch the process of canning. You will go home with a jar of her delicious salsa (a $12 value) and instructions on how to can your own! The Date is Friday August 21st. Space is limited. Prepayment is required to hold your spot!

It's noon, so baked goods are now discounted we have 2 mixed berry pies, 3 half pies (strawberry rhubarb, and apple cherry) 1 sourdough blueberry buckle coffee cake, 2 loaves of sourdough bread, 1 pan of sourdough cinnamon rolls and 3 individual, and 4 loaves of quick bread, 1 rhubarb nut, 2 apple cinnamon, ans 1 chocolate zucchini loaf.

Well the maple rootbeer was a big hit this summer. I only have 6 cans left in stock and will probably not restock till next spring (unless i get a big rush on maple syrup and need to make an order before then), it will likely be a seasonal treat!
