Been foraging raspberries on our property the past few days the same I have done for the past probably 33 yrs since I was a kid with my father..and as I was walking back up our rd (which use to be our driveway ) I looked down at the half of quart I had just picked that took me well over a good hr I felt accomplished (anyone who has picked wild raspberries knows what I mean) and thought 3 hard days early morning and late evening of rummaging through huge patches of raspberries trying not to damage the branches as much as possible because we all know raspberries don't all come in at the same time or anything lol so there will be more in the next few days probably for another week or so...all together those 3 days I have maybe enough for a full batch or raspberry jam(my fav)and again felt accomplished..well I come upon the house soaking wet from all the sweat from the heat and the hubby looks at my container and says that's all you have what the hell have you been doing π€¦ββοΈπ€£π€£as he was laughing just picking on me like he always does lol whelp defeat ran through my head and before I could think anything else I said to him you obviously don't know what it's like picking wild raspberries π€¦ββοΈI look like I got in a fight with a feral cat ..from head to toe..I think alone yesterday I fell down 7 times one of them in the ditch that he witnessed lmao and ..3 times today π€·ββοΈπ€£once face first in the patch (don't ask) I'm still picking pickers out of my elbows lmao ..so do me a favor when you eat something of ours pls know I do this because I love to it's in my blood it's an obsession that can't be explained..and while others are taking the easy way out and buying fruits from a grocery store to make jam and sell..I can assure you I stand behind our name west mtn!! Almost all of our fruits are foraged either from west mtn ..where my grand parents farmed for many many yrs or from right here on our own property on lake onderdonk ..some of the best soil around if you ask me..
