We’d like to share a small update regarding the watch that went missing on May 9th.
After the video was posted, the girl in the video reached out to us directly and explained that she did not take the watch. When we asked if she remembered where the watch may have been left after trying on clothes, or whether it had been handed back to our staff, she said she could not clearly remember.
During our conversation, she also asked if there was any CCTV footage showing whether the watch had been placed somewhere before entering the fitting room. After reviewing and sending the footage to her, what we could see from our side was that the watch was still in her hand while walking into the fitting room area, rather than being left somewhere else. Later, when the clothes were returned to our staff, the watch could no longer be seen.
We also want to share that after the fitting room was used, our staff carefully cleaned and checked the area but did not find the watch anywhere. On the same night, we even asked our staff to recheck the entire store again the following morning to make sure there had been no misunderstanding before deciding to post the original video (last slide).
Once we received her message, we temporarily hide the video to handle the situation more calmly and privately. This post is simply to clarify that we never intended to create drama, content, or false accusations, as her friend mentioned in the comments earlier, because that would only affect our own shop negatively.
The original video was posted only because it reflected everything we personally saw and recorded through our CCTV footage and checking process inside the store. As shop managers, we also have a responsibility to protect the store and its property, especially since both our shop and several nearby stores have experienced similar situations before.
After having a conversation with her, we feel that it’s best not to make any final conclusions regarding the situation. We’re also sharing the full conversation so that those who have been following the story can better understand the situation and form their own personal opinions.
