Out with the old and in with the new! We had long outgrown our reverse osmosis machine and this year we positioned ourselves to be able to make the leap into something larger! This new-to-us machine is over double the capacity of our old machine, and has the capability of building onto it and doubling the size of it as it sits now! There is still lots of work to be done this summer to get it permanently hooked up, but it will be able to serve us well for years to come!

Next season starts now! We’ve spent the last few weeks cleaning up and pulling spouts. When pulling the spouts, we shoot sanitizing solution into each dropline to help flush it out and kill any bacteria that is in the lines. This will help keep our sap running fresher and longer next season! We also made a trip to Vermont to update some of our sugar house equipment and even got to tour a 140,000 tap sugarbush! Friday, we gathered our last loads of sap for the year! We were lucky enough to get one more week and a few more boils out of half of our taps that sat in some colder areas! 2026 brought us 271,000 gallons of sap and 3,900 gallons of syrup, that’s enough for over 200,000 pancakes! 🍁🥞 Now it’s time to clean up and start making plans for next year!
