I imagine that it's long overdue but a quick update, like most of Florida and a ton of farms and nurseries, alot of damage from the Florida freeze of 2026. Hundreds of dead trees but some made it and some are coming back.
Loquat trees were the heardiest with zero protection and 3 nights of below freezing temperatures for 10-12 hours each night. Persimmons and mulberry trees were also unaffected but I feel like that was expected. Trees and others that are slowly showing signs of life are bananas, pineapple, some dragon fruit, Surinam cherry, longevity spinach and pomegranate.
When I started here at the new location I honestly thought I would be enjoying alot of fruits by now but it seems like I picked a very challenging location to grow. Now I have no idea when or if I will be successful here. Either way, remaining optimistic and wishing everyone a great future. Blessings.
