🥚 Washed Eggs vs. Unwashed Eggs: What’s the Difference? 🥚

Freshly laid eggs have a natural protective coating called the “bloom”. This invisible layer helps seal the shell and keeps bacteria out.

Unwashed Eggs
• Still have their natural bloom intact
• Can be stored at room temperature for up to 8 weeks
• Should stay dry and only be washed right before use if needed

Washed Eggs
• The bloom has been removed during washing
• Must be refrigerated to help keep them fresh and safe
• This is how most store-bought eggs are sold in Canada

Whether you choose washed or unwashed eggs often comes down to personal preference and how you plan to store them.

Garden Start & Egg Update!

The weather is finally cooperating, and as the forecast stands, after tonight we should be past the risk of frost and it’s a great time to get those gardens planted this weekend!

I have hardened-off vegetable starts available and ready to go into your garden:

🍅 Roma Tomatoes - $3 each
🍅 Cherry Tomatoes - $3 each
🍅 Beefsteak Tomatoes - $3 each
🥦 A few cauliflower plants available as well

All plants have been hardened off and are ready for outdoor planting.

More plants will be available soon once they’ve been hardened off and are safe for planting.

🥚 I’ll also be posting fresh eggs later today!
