The Tin Road Craft & Farmer’s Market would love your imput

Colin is a regular vendor at the Tin Road market. He is extremely talented and makes the most incredible wooden bird feeders.

Colin has recently been diagnosed with a severe umbilical hernia that requires urgent surgical intervention. This condition is not only extremely painful, but it is increasingly affecting his overall health and daily functioning.

As a self-employed craftsman, Colin earns his living through woodworking, creating and selling his pieces at local markets on weekends. His work is physically demanding, and unfortunately, his condition has now progressed to the point where he is no longer able to continue working as he normally would. This has placed him in an extremely difficult position—his health is deteriorating, and his ability to earn an income has been significantly impacted.

Although Colin has a hospital plan, he is currently unable to proceed with the operation through plan, as the condition is classified as a pre-existing condition and falls within the waiting period. As a result, he is required to fund the majority of the surgery privately, which is simply not financially possible for him at this time.

In addition, following the surgery, Colin will require a recovery period of approximately six weeks, during which he will be unable to work or generate any income. This further compound the financial strain at a time when his focus needs to be on healing and recovery.

Colin is someone who has always worked hard, using his skill, passion, and creativity to build a livelihood for himself. He now finds himself in a situation where he needs support during a time he cannot manage alone.
