The Evaton Police’s Social Crime Prevention Unit, alongside the Department of Social Development and the Department of Education, took pupils from Phamehlo Primary School to the Sebokeng Magistrate’s Court last week.

This was to curb crime among young learners.

Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said that this initiative aimed to educate learners about the consequences of drug abuse, bullying, gangsterism, and lack of discipline. During the session, officials highlighted the dangers of engaging in criminal activities and the long-term impact of having a criminal record.

“The pupils were told to refrain from any bad behaviors as it would lead them to jail, and that they would end up having a criminal record,” Msibi said.
