From day one, our goal has always been simple, to supply high-quality fertile eggs.

When we started, we intentionally kept our prices lower to give more people the opportunity to experience our quality and build trust with us. And thanks to your continued support, the results have been incredible.

As demand has grown and the cost of producing and maintaining this level of quality has increased, we have made a necessary price adjustment.
This decision is not about changing our objective, it’s about protecting it.

Frequently Asked: Where are we based & do we deliver?

We are based in Kitwe and yes! we deliver across Zambia 🚚

Last week, we successfully sent a batch to Solwezi, out of 39 ducklings, 38 made it.

We have also delivered to Mongu, with happy clients receiving their orders smoothly.

Customer feedback is the real deal 🐣

Nothing beats hearing those first little peeps, it is the sound of life on the way! When fertilized Pekin duck eggs start peeping, it means the ducklings have internally pipped and are getting ready to hatch.
What to look out for:
• Soft peeping sounds from inside the egg
• Small cracks or “pips” on the shell
• Increased movement
Why peeps matter: That sound means the duckling is alive, active, and almost ready to break through. It is a sign your incubation conditions are right and your hatch is successful!

FEEDING + WEIGHING

At Pure Pekin Poultry, we don’t guess, we measure every week, we carefully weigh our Pekin ducks to monitor their growth and ensure they are healthy, strong, and ready for consistent egg production.

Proper feeding is key 📌
Based on last week’s results, our feed allocation for this week is:
✔️ 227g per bird per day
✔️ Total: 3.4kg per day

Feeding Schedule:
🌅 Morning: 1.7kg (before 07:30)
🌇 Afternoon: 1.7kg (after 15:30)

This helps us maintain optimal growth and production while avoiding underfeeding or waste.
We have also identified a few birds that need improvement and we will be adjusting their feeding to bring them to the right standard.

A healthy mature Pekin duck should be around 2.5kg – 3.2kg (female) & 3.0 - 3.5 (male) live weight depending on management and genetics, Acceptable 2.2 kg nothing less.

We stay consistent so you get the best quality ducklings and fertilized eggs 🐥🥚

We have heard it all, banana leaves, pawpaw leaves and more, but this is what works for our pekin ducks.

Ducks are naturally foragers. However, it is important to be selective about the greens you feed them. For example, it’s not safe to feed bananas frequently, or to give salty and spicy leftover cooked food. Also, vegetables only provide certain nutrients. They are not a fully balanced diet.

We mainly use commercial feed because it contains different raw materials rich in various nutrients, making it a balanced diet. We then supplement with greens, worms, or whole maize. This also helps us meet demand. This is because ducks won’t lay consistently on greens alone.
