AT LEAST 30 BRIAN MUNDUBILE’S CAMPAIGN VEHICLES STONED AT HOTEL, POLICE LAUNCH INVESTIGATION IN COPPERBELT

Police have launched investigations into politically motivated violence and property damage reported in Kitwe and Ndola, following attacks involving supporters of different political parties.

According to Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi, Kitwe Central Police recorded seven cases of malicious damage to property on July 24, involving vehicles belonging to National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) officials and supporters.

The development comes after the NRPUP reported that nearly 30 vehicles were damaged by suspected UPND cadres during the attacks.

Meanwhile, in Ndola, police are investigating a break-in and theft at the UPND Secretariat in Twapia Old Market, where two motorcycles and four bicycles were stolen.

Police have also arrested 14 suspects over alleged unauthorised Tonse Alliance roadshows in Chifubu and Kawama, while 13 suspected UPND supporters were charged with idle and disorderly conduct before being released after paying Admission of Guilt fines.
