Pig farm of 100 fattening pigs

1. TECHNICAL HYPOTHESIS
Type : fattening only
Capacity: 100 pigs
Band: entry at 25-30 kg → exit at 90-100 kg
Cycle duration: 4 months
Rotation : 2,5 cycles/an
Mode : upgraded semi intensive
If you wanted to reproduce, this plan won't work

2. DIMENSIONNEMENT GLOBAL
Surface by a pig
Minimum standard: 0.8 to 1 m2 / pig
Recommended (Burkina hot climate): 1.2 m2 / pig
So :
100 pigs = 120 m2 minimum useful
Added traffic + technique: Total building surface ent 180 to 220 m2

3. TECHNICAL ARRANGEMENT PLAN
Internal organization
Divide into 5 batches of 20 pigs for good management and biosecurity measures
Dimensions of the rooms
20 pigs x 1.2 m2 = 24 m2 / lodge
Example: 4 m x 6 m
Total :
5 rooms = 120 m2
Central corridor
Width: 1.5 m to 2 m
Feeding permit + cleaning

4. STRUCTURE OF THE BUILDING
Foundation
Concrete Base
Mur soubassement : 40–60 cm
Walls
Height: 1.2 m full + fence or claustra up to 2.5 m
Goal: maximum natural ventilation
Roofer
Aluminum or galvanized tray sheet
Blade height: 3.5 to 4 m
Roof spill: minimum 1m (rain + sunshine)
If you close too much it causes heat which causes low growth therefore loss of money

5. EFFECTS MANAGEMENT
You fail here → your farm stinks → illness → rejection neighborhood
Slope of the ground
2 to 3% towards the gutter
Gutter
Width: 30 cm
Depth: 20-30 cm
Pit to the lisier
Volume minimum : 15–20 m³
Building distance: Dist 15 m
If you put the pit too close it causes direct contamination

6. NUTRITION
Feeders
1 feeder for 5 to 8 pigs
So :3–4 mangeoires / loge
Abbreviation
1 pipette for 10 pigs
So 2 pipettes / lodge

7. BIOSECURITY
Pediluve at the entrance
Clean zone separate from dirty zone
No visitors
Quarantine area
90% of small farms fail here.

8. ON THE GROUND IMPLANT:
Orientation: East - West
Dominant wind face open
Living distance: Dist 50 m
Drilling/water distance: Dist 30 m
Distance fosse lisier : ≥ 15–20 m

9. ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT
Wheelchair (2)
Shovel / Raclette
Water tank (1000 L minimum)
Libra (option but PRO)
Food stock is secured

10. MISTAKE NOT TO MAKE
Undersizing causes stress, slow growth
Neglecting ventilation equals mortality
Mixing batches gives diseases
No diet plan causes financial losses
No secure market equals bankruptcy

🐔 Turkey vs Chicken Farming: The Truth Farmers Don’t Tell You!

When choosing between Turkey and Chicken farming, the best option depends on your goal quick profit or premium returns.

👉 Profitability

Chicken farming (especially broilers) gives faster income. Within 5–8 weeks, birds are ready for sale.

Turkey farming takes longer (4–6 months), but each bird sells at a higher price, especially during festive seasons.

👉 Verdict: Chickens = quick, steady cash. Turkeys = bigger profit per bird but slower turnover.

😌 Stress Level 👇👇

Chickens are easier to manage, more resistant, and have well-established feeding and vaccination systems.

Turkeys are more delicate, especially when young (poults). They require extra care, warmth, and attention.

✅ Chickens are less stressful for beginners.

👉 Market Demand

Chicken meat and eggs are in daily high demand hotels, homes, restaurants.

Turkey meat is seasonal, with peak demand during celebrations and holidays.

✅ Chickens have constant demand, turkeys have seasonal high-value demand.

👉 My advice : If you want consistent income with less stress, go for chicken farming.

If you can manage higher risk and wait longer for bigger returns, turkey farming can pay off especially during festive periods.

Smart farmers often combine both to balance cash flow and profit.

Because your animals’ health, safety, care, and happiness remain our top priority.

Garlic in Poultry Farming: The Cheap Secret That Boosts Growth, Fights Disease & Saves You Money!

Garlic is not just for the kitchen, it’s a powerful natural booster in poultry farming. Many successful farmers now use garlic as a safe and affordable way to improve the health and performance of their birds.

Garlic contains a strong natural compound called allicin, which helps fight harmful bacteria, viruses, and parasites in chickens. When added to their water or feed, garlic works like a natural antibiotic without the side effects of chemicals.

It also helps to: 👇👇

Boost immunity – Birds become stronger and less likely to fall sick.

Improve digestion – Chickens absorb nutrients better, leading to faster growth.

Reduce bad smell – Helps control odor in poultry droppings.

Lower mortality rate – Especially useful for young chicks.

Improve egg quality – Layers may produce better and healthier eggs.

👉 How to use garlic: Crush 1–2 cloves of fresh garlic and mix it in 1 liter of drinking water. Give it to your birds 2–3 times a week.

Garlic is a simple, low-cost solution that can make a big difference in your poultry farm when used correctly.

STOP BLAMING DISEASES: 90% OF BROILER DEATHS IS HUMAN ERROR, NOT ‘BAD LUCK’!

Many poultry farmers lose chickens daily and assume it is “spiritual” or “unknown disease,” but in reality, most deaths come from poor vaccination timing and handling mistakes.

A proper vaccination schedule can reduce mortality to almost zero when correctly followed:

From day 1, chicks should already receive Marek’s vaccine at the hatchery.

Between day 5–7, Newcastle disease vaccine (Lasota) is given through clean drinking water after a short water withdrawal to ensure intake.

Between day 10–14, Gumboro (IBD) vaccine is administered, followed by a booster for Newcastle around day 18–21, and a repeat Gumboro dose at day 24–28 for full protection.

However, vaccine effectiveness is easily destroyed by common mistakes: using chlorinated water, exposing vaccines to sunlight, mixing with drugs or vitamins, or vaccinating during hot hours of the day.

Supportive natural supplements like garlic or ginger in drinking water may help immunity, but they are NOT substitutes for vaccines.

The hard truth many farmers ignore is simple: most chicken deaths are not unavoidable they are preventable.

Vaccination is not optional; it is the shield that determines whether your flock becomes profit or loss.

Because your animals’ health, safety, care, and happiness remain our top priority.

Wake up each day and take action, even when the purpose isn’t immediately clear. It is better to try and fail than to remain paralyzed by uncertainty. Keep pushing forward, even in the face of rejection.

The zeros you are accumulating now—zero sales, zero cash flow, zero external support—are not wasted. They are the foundation of future success. With persistence, those zeros will become the starting point of something valuable.

Opportunity can arrive in an instant. Stay ready by continuing your efforts, even when proChick Filma slow. Stay disciplined, stay focused, and trust the process.
