katambora rhodes grass is a perennial pasture grass that will grow in a range of soil types.it has fine leaves and stems and has ability to grow in lower fertility soils from infertile sand to fertile clays.
land preparation
land should well disced free from clods to ensure fine tilth seedbed
planting
sowing should be done by broadcasting seed ,rolling is needed to give good seed to soil contact.we recomend sowing rhodes grass between september to march when there is probability of recieving consecutive rain days,germination will takes place within 7days ,seed rate 15kg/ha for grazing and 15-20kg for seed production
harvesting
first cut /grazing should be done after 51days from planting and further cuts can be made 30-35days after cutting/grazing for 3-4years if well managed.cut 15cm from the ground for the grass to quickly recover.when well managed can yield an average of 10-18tonnes/ha/year
