During my childhood in the early 80’s, I worked with my family in the market garden before and after school. As the years went by I progressed from working in the market garden to working at the East End Markets selling vegetables from the back of the family ute. Hard times presented themselves and my parents were forced to leave the vegetable industry to venture into new opportu

nities. From this point I continued to stay in the industry and help my cousin Domenic sell vegetables from his truck as well as retail outlets. I have been in and out of the Markets since the age of 8 and at the age of 16 an opportunity for a full time position at the East End Markets arose. By this stage the East End Market traders had outgrown the premises and the move to the new Pooraka Markets was made. After having worked full time for 16 years I decided it was time to write a new chapter in my working life. This meant I had to make a choice between staying in the wholesale industry or venturing into the world of retail. I chose to pursue an opportunity that presented itself after having worked at Plummers Store for a year or so. This is where ‘The Fresh Fruit For You Produce Company’ started. Thus far, Fruit for You is thriving and since the inception of the business I have made many new and long lasting friendships and am extremely grateful for the support and loyalty of all our retailers and growers. I look forward to their continued support and friendship for many years to come.

• Early morning starts
• 3–4 days per week
• Fast-paced warehouse environment
• Forklift licence a bonus

We’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and able to keep up in a busy environment. Experience in picking and packing is preferred, but a great attitude is a must!
