Koojedda Country

Koojedda Country Preservative, Additive and Gluten free produce. As organically grown as possible. I would like to present to you my seasonal collection of homemade preserves.

They are all preservative, additive and gluten free. The pectin used in the jam as a setting agent is made from lemons grown on Koojedda Country. Most of the fruit and vegetables used in these products are grown on Koojedda Country at Bakers Hill as close to organic as possible. The sugar content is far less than usual - just enough to preserve.

🧀 🧀 🧀 Last delivery for this week was to The Cheese Shop in Kalamunda.
If you’ve not been there yet it’s time you drove up the hill and checked it out.

🧀 The varieties of cheese is phenomenal. They have so many other things as well.

☕️ Followed by breakfast next door at Jack & Jill (great coffee) with my son and his family. Then back home to plant more Protea.

🍊 And….. just off the stove is Beetroot & Orange Relish.

Only picking as needed. They last longer that way.
This product is so popular that I constantly run out.
I’m about to plant a heap of Beetroot as they are stupid expensive.

This time a lovely drive into the hills to Walliston (near Kalamunda) to S&R Orchard Perth to drop off for their Blossom Festival.
Nice and sunny this morning. Great coffee, animal farm, stone fruit flowering, food vans, Tractor ride, Ferris wheel and more.
Plenty of room for kids to run around and free parking.
Photo - a bee doing his thing. With out these little fellows we have no stone fruit or much else.
Have a great day.

Another drive into the country early this morning. This time to Bindoon The Local Larder of Bindoon to restock. I went the back way through the bush - such a nice drive.
Photo is of a baby Goanna in my back garden. He has a bowl of water just for him and various greens, plus I give him slices of apple and the odd strawberry if I have one.
Have a great day.

A lovely drive into the country this morning on a delivery to The Crafters Emporium in Toodyay.
Great little shop with local and outside artisan products and more.
Met the most beautiful loooong haired Alaskan Malamute. His hair was so long he is a dud pup. Looked gorgeous to me and loved cuddles.
Bought back memories of my Belgian Shepard (Malinois) - beautiful big boy.
Yellow canola crops everywhere.
Please don’t drive or walk into these crops. It is private property and they are heavily sprayed.
Look from the roadside and zoom - works for me.

🐝 🐝 🐝 I love every season for different reasons but Spring is my favourite. This is my early Plum tree.

🐝 New growth, flowers then fruit and flowers.
Just look at this busy little bee doing his thing. We have to look after the bees. I have deliberately planted something that flowers every month here - just for the bees - and it’s pretty.

🐝 Once the fruit has set the bees have done their thing. Then it’s time for the nets to go up. That’s fun……..not.

🦜 I have seen a 28 parrot strip a tree of its fruit in 24 hours - 20 to 30 kg of fruit wasted. You have to judge it right or no fruit. No, the birds don’t eat all the fruit, they sharpen their beaks…….not funny.

🐝 Then we start all over again - preserving, cooking, freezing and a whole lot of eating.

So much good stuff in there - especially for Father’s Day. Check it out.
