After a great deal of consideration, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel our upcoming NAIDOC event.

Over the past several months we reached out to well over 1,000 businesses, creators, food vendors, performers, and community contacts in hopes of building something truly special for Brisbane’s NAIDOC celebrations. While we received a lot of encouragement and support, unfortunately we were unable to secure the level of confirmed participation needed to responsibly move forward with the event.

What many people may not realise is that The Burbs Market has always genuinely just been the two of us — a husband-and-wife team funding and building these events ourselves, without major backing or financial support behind us. To take this event to a larger Brisbane venue required a huge financial commitment from us personally, and unfortunately the numbers simply did not stack up in a sustainable way.

Truthfully, trying to make this event happen has hit us harder than we expected — financially, mentally, and emotionally. Because of that, for the foreseeable future, this is likely the end of The Burbs Market.

To everyone who attended an event, supported us, shared our posts, applied, enquired, or believed in what we were trying to build — thank you. We genuinely appreciate it more than you know.

Refunds will be issued to those who have paid, and existing credits will still be honoured as funds become available. We kindly ask for patience while we work through everything responsibly.

🚨 BIG NEWS — DEADLY AFTER DARK IS HEADING NORTHSIDE 🚨

What started as a simple market idea has quickly grown into something much bigger than we originally imagined.

With that growth, we’re excited to officially announce that Deadly After Dark will now be held at our new Hamilton location — allowing us to create a far larger experience and bring this vision to life on the scale it deserves.

As many of you know, we’ve always tried to keep our stallholder pricing as accessible as possible — especially at our Club Oxley events where we had a really supportive arrangement in place that allowed us to do that.

With this new venue and the increased scale of production, there does come additional costs behind the scenes to deliver the kind of atmosphere, energy, and experience we’re building toward for this event.

Because of that, there has been a small adjustment to stallholder pricing moving forward.

For the few vendors who secured their spots early at the original rate — firstly, thank you for backing the vision from the beginning. 🖤 We’ll simply be reaching out regarding a small top-up difference to align with the updated event pricing.

This is shaping up to be one of our biggest events yet.

A full NAIDOC night market experience.
Culture. Music. Atmosphere. Food. Community.

And we truly believe Brisbane is going to feel it.
