Our Family has been farming in Wheatbelt for more than one hundred years. Beginning in Cunderdin at the turn of the 20th century, the family moved to the rolling hills near New Norcia after World War II. Rhodes, Oaten,chaff is built on the foundation laid by Richard’s father John Rose, who switched to hay production during the eighties following the collapse of the wool industry. Growing up surrounded by hay crops, Richard’s passion for producing quality cereals started at a young age. By 15 Richard had started his own hay contracting and share farming business. In 2006, Richard purchased a 172 acre plot next door to the family farm with his wife and shortly after the couple founded AL & KR Stanley Hay Sales. The business now has a state of the art chaff mill, incorporating steam and an extensive dust extraction system.
