You may have heard the rumour… well, after 4 wonderful years of serving the local Buderim community, it’s time for us to hand over the reins to new owners. Monday 29th September will be our last day in store.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to every single person who has been a part of our journey—our loyal customers, Sunshine Coast Suppliers, dedicated staff, and the local community that has supported us from Day 1.

To our incredible team: Your hard work and commitment have made this store a true community asset. We’re grateful for each of you and the friendliness you’ve brought to the business.

To our customers: Thank you for allowing us to be part of your daily lives. Whether it was helping you find the right ingredients or sharing a laugh in the aisles, we’ve loved being a part of your daily routine. Please continue to support this business going forward. It’s an important part of the Buderim Community and deserves to continue to thrive.

We’re excited to see where this next chapter takes us and look forward to continuing to be a part of the Buderim community.

MANGO FRIANDS

A friand with tropical flavours, perfect after dinner with a cup of tea.

INGREDIENTS

1 mango, chopped
1/2 lime, zested and juiced (about 1 tbsp)
1 cup plain flour, sifted
1 cup almond meal
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup icing sugar, sifted
175 g butter, melted and slightly cooled
5 egg whites, whisked till frothy
*Serving size calculator is approximate, feel free to adjust by adding a pinch here and there as needed

METHOD

Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Grease and flour friand tins.
In a small bowl, add the mango, lime zest and juice together.
In a larger mixing bowl, add the sifted flour, almond meal, shredded coconut, baking powder and icing sugar. Combine with a whisk then stir in the melted butter followed by the egg whites. Mix well.
Fill prepared tins with the batter, then add the mango lime mix. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden and cooked through.

HONEY GLAZED PORK FILLET

The family will enjoy the sweetness of this meal!

INGREDIENTS

2 Serves*

2 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp honey
60 mL kecap manis
400 g (roughly) pork fillets, halved
*Serving size calculator is approximate, feel free to adjust by adding a pinch here and there as needed

METHOD

Heat the oil in a large frypan and cook pork over medium-high heat, turning for 4 minutes.
In a small bowl mix, honey and kecap manis. Glaze the pork continuously for 4 minutes, turning, being careful not to burn.
Transfer the pork and juices to a bowl, cover with foil and rest for 3 minutes before serving.
