'The impact of higher diesel prices is falling hardest on supermarkets, which rely on bulk produce, often shipped long distances from inland or interstate growers.

'By contrast, locally grown fruit and vegetables sold at farmers’ markets travel shorter distances and can offer better value.' "

Fertiliser. Crucial input for all farmers like our FAB people as well as huge wheat producers in the West and all farmers in between. Maybe someone can tell us why we have to import urea and other fertilisers. Seems like we should be producing it ourselves but will await wiser expert advice.
