Just a friendly reminder to eat more citrus while it's in season!!

We've got a large range of both organic and conventional citrus, including lemonades, tangelos, pomelos, blood oranges, Cara Cara and other navel oranges, mandies and more!

This week is also the last week of Seville oranges for your marmalade needs!

Growing up, I never really understood citrus, because what we bought as a family was from the supermarket which had no taste. I think my 'aha' moment came when I took on Harvest because we always buy the freshest stock, and our citrus supplier at the wholesale Market is the absolute BEST!

Can't beat the sweetness of the Cara Cara, that juicy tang of the tangelo, or that colour pop of the blood orange!

Gotta say that I'm pretty proud of our locally grown broccoli from our farm out in Glenluce.

We're growing organically (without certification), managed to keep the cabbage moth off with shade cloth which also protected from the harsh late summer heat.

Only a small amount available this week so get in quick!!

Just need to do another appreciation post for these STRAWBERRIES! Beautifully scrumptious Wombat Forest Organic strawbs, picked up from the farm directly.

The end of the season is always a bit abrupt, and we've heard there may not be many (or any!) pickings left this season! So get in while they're still in season!

So much love to the Wombat Forest Organic farm, we're currently getting strawbs, carrots and -fresh in- Dutch cream potatoes! It's a busy time of year for the farm with their three lines all going at once, but the crew are incredible- thank you for feeding us all!

We buy the strawberries directly from the farm and punnet ourselves into these home compostable burger boxes. We prefer to do this to avoid plastic, but to also keep the cost down for our lovely customers. If we can buy quality produce locally instead of getting from the wholesale market-we will!

If you're storing these babies for a little while (mine barely get into the fridge before consumption😅), we recommend transferring to a non-porous container to save them from drying out.

The season is ORANGE! Beautiful astringent organic persimmons in this week, eat them when they're about to drip through your fingertips YUM YUM!!

We also have conventional ready to eat 'vanilla' persimmons for those who can't wait!

New season navels and mandies are in to kick off the citrus season as well!
