We’re Growing — Come Join the Team at Crows Nest Country Butchery 👨‍🍳
We’re a busy, locally loved butcher shop in the heart of Crows Nest, and we’re looking for good people to come on board. If you’ve ever wanted to work in a proper, community-focused butcher shop where your work actually matters — this could be your spot.
Roles available:
🥩 Qualified Butcher — if you’re experienced behind the band saw and know your way around a carcass, we’d love to chat. Top priority.
🌱 Apprentice Butcher — keen to learn the trade? Start a butcher apprenticeship with us and gain a nationally recognised qualification while earning. No experience needed, just a willingness to learn and a good attitude.
✂️ Trimmers — great entry point into the industry. We’ll teach you how to trim and present cuts the right way.
📦 Packers — hands-on role helping keep the cabinets full and the shop running smoothly. Perfect for someone reliable who likes staying busy.

We cure and smoke our bacon right here on the premises — no shortcuts, no factory processing, just proper old-school flavour. The kind that crisps up beautifully in the pan, curls around a weekend brekkie roll, and makes the whole house smell like Sunday morning.
Why smoke it ourselves? Because when it’s done in-house, we control everything — the cure, the wood, the time. The result is a richer, smokier, more honest bacon than anything you’ll pull off a supermarket shelf. It’s the difference between “bacon” and “real bacon.”

🔥 Our Traditional Smoked Bacon — the full, classic flavour you love. Cured, smoked and sliced fresh in-store.
🌿 Nitrite-Free Smoked Bacon — same handcrafted process, made without added nitrites for those who prefer to keep things simple and natural. Same smoky aroma, same great taste, just a cleaner label.

It was also a pleasure to catch up with Chester from d'Arenberg and spend the day surrounded by people who genuinely care about what they do.
