First of all, it’s good. Then it’s gluten free.

That’s the challenge we’ve taken on at Bar Positano.

We didn’t change everything just to be “gluten free”. We changed because we believe we can create something different in Sydney without compromising on flavour, texture, tradition or quality.

For us, quality comes first.

Italian food should still feel Italian, taste Italian and make you want to come back — whether you care about gluten free or not.

There’s something really special about hearing good music, being surrounded by nice people, and simply enjoying the atmosphere of Surry Hills.

One thing I’ve always felt Sydney is missing is that spontaneous social life — places where you can just walk in, have a drink, meet someone new, have a conversation, listen to good music and stay as long as you feel like.

That’s what I hope Bar Positano can become. 🇮🇹❤️

Not everything has to be a formal restaurant experience where you’re expected to sit down, order a full meal and spend a fortune. And not every night out needs to be inside a huge corporate venue designed to move hundreds of people through the same experience.

Sometimes you just want a little place with personality. Good music. A spritz or a glass of wine. Something to eat if you’re hungry. People talking to each other.

A little bit of that Italian social life, right here in Surry Hills.

Hopefully Positano becomes a place where strangers meet, conversations start, friendships happen and people actually feel part of something.
