HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR QUEEN BEE🎉🐝💛

Yesterday this legend had a birthday and honestly… the world is louder, warmer and slightly more chaotic because she’s in it 😂

If you’ve ever met Chez, you already know… there is no “low volume” setting 😂 She’s all heart, all energy, all in, all the time. The laugh you hear across the market? That’s her. The one who turns a quick honey sale into a full life catch up? Also her.

What gets me most is how much she genuinely cares. Our customers are never just customers to her. She remembers your stories, your kids, what jar you bought last time, and somehow makes everyone feel like family. And honestly, that’s exactly what you’ve all become to us 🫶

Go on, flood her with birthday love… she’ll pretend to be embarrassed but secretly love every second 😂👇🎉

Okay okay… we’re a little late to the party — his birthday was Tuesday 🙈 but this legend deserves a shoutout anyway!

Some of you know him as the Banana Man 🍌
Some know him as the Honey Man 🍯
We know him as the bloke who keeps everything running — markets, bees, fruit, gear, fixing things, lifting things, and doing all the jobs no one else wants to do 💪😅

Early mornings, long days, zero complaints (mostly 😂) — we’d be a bit lost without him.

🔥🐝 Today was one of those heart-stopping days…

Just hours ago, a large bushfire broke out at two of our bee sites. With the dry weather we’ve had and the extreme heat still to come, the outcome could have been devastating.

Thanks to the incredible Rural Fire Brigade, the quick thinking of friends, and the property owners who called Todd straight away — disaster was avoided.

Standing in the smoke, looking down the line of hives, it really hit us how fragile and precious our bees are… and how much we rely on the bravery and kindness of others to keep them safe.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Today, you didn’t just protect bees — you protected the heart of our work and a piece of our family. 💛🐝🙏

Ever been stung so badly it kept you out of the bees for 490 days? That was me… until today. 🐝🙌

You may have noticed it’s been a little quiet here at Bellmere Honey, and I wanted to share why…

In April last year, I went into anaphylaxis from a bee sting and ended up in hospital (check out the “Bee – 1, Me – 0” moment 🙈). It was one of the scariest experiences of my life - (OH and Todd’s), it meant I couldn’t work the bees alongside Todd like I used to.

Since then, I’ve been under the care of the incredible immunology team at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, going through bee venom desensitisation therapy. This means monthly injections equivalent to 2 bee stings (yep, it’s as tough as it sounds 🐝😳). My body still reacts, but it’s part of the journey.

✨ Today, after 490 days, I finally got to work with the bees again✨
