Most of our cattle calve without assistance. Some years we don't even have to assist any heifers. But every now and again we have to.
Some times a calf is breach and cant move through the canal, those ones are the most challenging, and having small forearms has big advantages.
Weve only had 1 c-section, where the uterus was twisted, that was a very unusual case.
Most assistances are just where the calf is too big. This is the case here.
Each time we assist, the cow is culled to ensure the genetics are not passed on.
