Another cheap, easy and delicious recipe you can whip up in mins.

We know you love granola so here’s a very basic recipe that’s clustery but not full of big chunks of nuts. So it’s popular with kids or anyone that has a hard time with hard nuts.

This recipe comes in at about $6 so way cheaper than the organic granola from the supermarket.

You can tweak this to add extra nuts, seeds coconut etc, switch out the PB for tahini for a nut free version. Use our Chofu nutty butter in place of the PB for a decadent chocolatey granola. Sub the oats for buckwheat or quinoa flakes for a GF version. Go wild and use your imagination.

The only real rules to follow are, low and slow temperature to avoid scorching and use 4 tablespoons of wet binder for each cup of dry ingredients. If your mix is too dry it won’t cluster.

Granola is one of easiest switches from store bought to homemade, once you’ve got a few batches under your belt you’ll be able to go off recipe and eyeball your ratios, which makes it even quicker and easier.

We’ve got everything in stock for your granola creations, so if you want to experiment this weekend, pop in and grab only the amount you actually need and enjoy some indoor activities.

Hot tip to save some $.

Home cooking can save serious cash when it comes to feeding the family and the trick to making your meals quick, easy and tasty is a well stocked spice rack.

A few chicken fillets become fajitas.
A can of chickpeas becomes a delicious coconut curry
A few spuds become tasty wedges
A pack of mince becomes meatballs full of flavour

You get the idea.

If you’ve got a good range of spices on hand, there’s no limit to the awesome dishes you can whip up with some simple fresh base ingredients.

If you’re not overly confident blending flavours or just want to make life a little easier, we have a range of ready made spice blends in store as well as individual spices.

Now for the real cost saving, we did some research and when it comes to herbs and spices, shopping bulk is far cheaper than the supermarket. Plus you only buy the amount you need, so if you’re trying something new, no need to commit to a full pack.

Come and check out the range in store. Always fresh, always free from preservatives and we’re always ready to talk recipe ideas with you.

Nourishing food shouldn’t be complicated or expensive. This recipe is neither and that’s why it’s my winter go to when I want something nutritious without the hassle, the fact it tastes like dessert for breakfast and only costs $2 is a bonus.

It’s one of those ‘no rules’ recipes, add whatever takes your fancy, protein powder, fruit, nut butter, chocolate chips, use your imagination and go wild!

The base recipe is simple
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp baking powder (optional but gives a nice fluffy result)

I added cinnamon and vanilla bean which I can highly recommend.

Mix it all together then bake in the oven or air fryer for 15mins on 180. Then top with yoghurt, fruit, nuts, peanut butter, or whatever you like.

If you want to make a bigger batch and bake it in a tray, just multiply the base recipe.

This will keep you full for hours and really does taste incredible.

Organic flat bread with 4 ingredients you probably already have at home.

Quick, easy and only about $1.80 for 6 serves.

We’re all about recipes that are cheap, wholesome, easy to make and taste awesome.

A 5 pack of decent quality organic flat bread at the supermarket will set you back around $10 or more these days. However with a little prep you can whip up a batch for about $1.80 for 6 at home.

This recipe requires very little if any technique, honestly if I can do it, you can do it. I’m making these regularly at the moment because Etta is loving them, who knows how long that will last, but I’m making the most of her obsessing over something nutritious!

I’ve got a system down to a fine art, so I’m not spending extra time in the kitchen prepping these. If you want more info DM me and I’ll talk you through it.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup organic self raising flour
1/2 cup Greek yoghurt (not Greek style)
1 tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Pinch Celtic Salt

METHOD:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix, once the ingredients are combined get your hands in to form the dough.

Flour the bench top and knead the dough for about 3-4 mins, to activate the glutens in the flour the dough should become smooth and elastic.

Set it aside for about 10-15 mins. Then divide the dough into 6 balls and roll them out nice and thin.

Heat a large fry pan and dry cook each piece separately for about 30 seconds each side, or until the bread is golden brown.

Cover the cooked pieces with a clean tea towel until ready to serve.

Serve with falafel, grilled lamb or chicken, use as a homemade pizza base. Great for breakie burritos or even just with some avo and Vegemite (our fav go to)

Ok let’s be real, feeding the gang healthy meals is getting costly these days. Luckily I’ve always got my eye out for dinners that are 1. Nutritious 2. Quick and easy 3. Affordable and 4. Tasty (most importantly, so Etta will actually eat them)!

The Mt Zero Falafel mix has found a place in our weekly rotation, honestly It’s a life saver for the days we don’t get home from after school activities til late and I need to get something on the table quickly and with little fuss.

1 cup of Falafel mix
Handful green herbs finely chopped (or blitzed in blender)
1/2 cup water
Mix them all together, let set for 10 mins or so then roll into balls and shallow fry or spray with EVOO and whack them in the air fryer 10 mins (turn them half way through).

You can even double batch prep the mixture roll all the balls or patties and freeze half for another day.

I love that the ingredients are simple and real, no anti-caking agents or seed oils. With protein and fibre they keep us full, plus I get to use up the parsley that’s taken over my patch.

If you want to know my hack for prepping ‘chips’ to go with the wraps in minutes or my ridiculously easy wrap recipe DM me and I’ll shoot you the details.
