One of the quieter members of the family, mostly blind, a little grumpy and my bestest girl. We made the most of the sunny morning picking Lilly Pilly that are so abundant and colourful I had couldn’t resist making jam with them.

There are so many different varieties in this pile. I spot 5, how many can you see?

I reckon hot sauce is the only answer… unless you’ve got a better idea?
Would you buy homemade hot sauce from Pothole Pantry? Mild, hot, or the sort that makes you regret your life choices? 🔥
I suspect I’ll

🍋 It’s back… but not for long.
Our much loved Lemon Curd is made with Allyn River lemons & pasture raised Glendonbrook eggs. I only make a handful of batches each year, and it never lasts long.

🌶️ Now at the farmstand this weekend – Jalapeño Jelly.

Sweet, sticky, and finished with just the right kick of jalapeño, this small-batch jelly is one of those pantry staples you’ll keep reaching for.

Perfect with:
• A cheeseboard (especially cream cheese or brie)
• Glazed over chicken, pork or salmon
• Spread on a ham sandwich
• Stirred through a homemade burger sauce
• Added to a grazing platter for a little heat and sweetness

Handmade in small batches using quality ingredients, just the way good preserves should be.

Available this weekend at the farmstand while stocks last.

I often walk home from the shop and pick up roadside garbage and bottles for recycling.
This morning on my sunny walk home I picked up a little hitchhiker in a b**r bottle.

We are pleased to introduce a new cordial to The Pantry's offerings: Grapefruit & Pomegranate.
The grapefruit is sourced from our own tree at home, while the pomegranates are carefully selected from local growers along the Allyn River at Halton, then juiced and reduced to create a rich, homemade grenadine.

To fully appreciate its unique flavor profile, mix with a splash of soda water and garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary,a drink that balances citrus notes with a subtle tartness and sweetness.
My preference is to serve with gin, although I suspect it would better complement Aperol and Southern Comfort nicely.
I hope you get the opportunity to try some.

What a morning!
A huge thank you to everyone that came along to our very first Pothole Pantry brunch today. We honestly didn’t know what to expect, and seeing the old road filled with friendly faces, coffee cups and good conversation meant the world to us.
An extra special thank you to the beautiful people who walked in as customers this morning and somehow ended up helping us like old friends by the end of the day. From clearing tables to lending a hand wherever it was needed, your kindness carried us through.

Thank you for supporting small, local and homemade. From the bottom of our hearts, we’re grateful for every coffee ordered, every scone shared and every kind word spoken today. We couldn’t have done it without you all.
We’ll restock the jam shelves, wash the cake tins and do it all again soon.
Xx
