🌟🐑 Pet of the Week – Meet Legs! 🐑🌟
Legs is our only male wether sheep here at The Haven, and there’s a very special reason why he’ll always call this place home. 💛
Legs was born on an icy, wet day to one of our favourite ewes, Pearl. He was a twin, and while his brother was perfectly healthy, something about Legs was just a little different. After bringing them into a warm stable, drying them off, and giving them a few days of love and care, both lambs seemed ready to take on the world.
But as Legs grew, we started to notice his walk was stiff, and when he ran, he didn’t quite move like the others. Still, he was always happy, full of love, and absolutely adored human company. 🥰
One day, during a vet visit, we finally got an answer — the vet suspected Legs has cerebral palsy, which explains his head tremors, uncoordinated movement, and wobbly little gaits. And I guess that’s why you know his name is Legs! 🦵💕
Despite these challenges, he doesn’t let anything hold him back. He’s the first to greet you, full of character, and one of the most special souls at The Haven. ✨
He’s also developed his own clever way of doing things — when our son feeds the sheep, Legs jumps right into the feed bin, lays down, and happily eats away (it’s much easier than competing with the pushy flock who sometimes knock him over). Once he’s full, our son has to lift him out of the bin so he can trot off and play again. 💛
Legs is proof that different is beautiful, and he has our hearts forever. 🌿
Will try and find a video of his happy little run xx
