Classic White Sauce for Corned Silverside
Perfect served over slices of hot corned silverside.

Ingredients
40g butter
2 tbsp plain flour
2 cups milk
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped parsley (optional)

Method

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in the milk, a little at a time, until smooth.

Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and comes to a gentle simmer.

Add mustard, season with salt and pepper, and stir through parsley if desired.

Serving Tip: Pour generously over sliced corned silverside with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
