This is devastating for people in our industry, but it's also affecting every West Australian! Everyone has the rights to be able to eat healtily and enjoy Western Australian seafood.

Blanket bans don’t just end fishing, they end the social fabric of regional WA.
They are a simple answer to a difficult challenge. They are also proven to fail.

From Bunbury to Kalbarri, ports will fall silent. Businesses will shut and families will leave.

Closing our fisheries closes communities.

There is a better way. We have a long track record of managing sustainable fisheries. We have done it before and have the tools and knowledge to do it again and again.

WAFIC is calling on the Minister to return to the table and work toward a fairer, more considered approach that protects our fish stocks, hardworking Western Australians, and a fundamental food source for our state.

We've turned off website orders until after Christmas, but still have plenty of stock of cooked and raw king and tiger prawns, king prawn meat, frozen octopus and some live crays all available to purchase today and tomorrow from our seafood truck - we'll be at 6/12 Ascari Lane, Joondalup all day today, and from 8am-3.30pm tomorrow, Christmas Eve.
