Watts Fresh is a local business that was started by Fred Watts just before the end of the second world war when he grew vegetables at this address and delivered them around town on his push bike. The business is now owned and operated by Dean and Sherril who have been in the fruit and veg business for more than 22 years, and were named Fresh Produce Retailers of the year in 2007 in one of their other stores.

Yesterday we noticed a very smart crow popping in and out of the Watts Fresh Van as we were packing some of our wholesale orders. He gently tore a hole in a box of eggs and helped himself to few eggs. They weren’t his and he hadn’t done any of the work but somehow he felt entitled to help himself. I’ve nicknamed him Albo.
