Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday from 8.30am - 12.30pm at 71 Cimitiere Street, Launceston. Saturday mornings in the heart of the Tamar Valley, Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market brightens a quiet inner city car park and brings the farm gate to you. Meet the farmers, connect with locals and feast your eyes on baskets brimming with Tasmania's freshest seasonal produce, artificial hormone-free meat, organic dairy, artisan bread and pastries, bright summer berries or blushing autumn apples. Savour a locally roasted coffee and taste your way around our foodie State at this vibrant weekly event before collecting a myriad of premium produce, cool-climate wines, artisan ciders and home-made preserves for the journey home.

Meet two of our volunteers, Kevin and Terenz. From a couple of months to a couple of years, they've been welcoming you to the market every Saturday.

Get to know them a little better, and if you're at the market this weekend, come and say hello. One thing we noticed after chatting with them both is that no matter how long they've been with us, the reason they applied and the reason they stick around is exactly the same.

Let's talk parking. We know the drill: circling the block, eyes peeled, hoping someone pulls out right as you roll up.

Here's the thing though, there's more parking around Harvest than you'd think. Rhys thinks it's time you widened the net a little, especially now the weather's turning nicer for a stroll.

A few extra minutes' walk, a lot less circling. See you Saturday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Winter tested us this year. Cold mornings, dodgy weather, the odd Saturday where staying in bed would've been the easy option. You showed up anyway.

So when we say Harvest runs rain, hail or shine, what we actually mean is you do. Every single week, no matter what the sky's doing.

Thank you for being the reason we get to do this every Saturday. 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Now time for the sunny market mornings to return in spring. 🌤️

Our Harvest sign has been around for a long time, as you can probably tell by that very faded, well loved look. We figured it was about time for an upgrade, but not without a proper send-off first.

Before she was carted off and replaced, our community got the final say.

Fennel tends to get overlooked, often sitting quietly at the bottom of the crisper until it's forgotten about entirely.

This one's from Xia at Hmong Veggies, and there's a genuinely simple way to bring it to life that most people never try. Beautiful over pan fried fish, lovely through a salad, or just eaten on its own while dinner's finishing up. Ten minutes, barely any effort, and it turns an ordinary dinner into something that feels a lot more special.

A bit of a double whammy this week, because Hillwood Fresh Food Co. doesn't fit into just one of our stallholder categories. They're both ready-to-eat and fresh produce, all in the one stall.

Please welcome our newest stallholder, a locally owned business out of the Tamar Valley specialising in mushrooms, eggs and beef. They're joining us with both a ready-to-eat offering, tempura mushrooms, and produce to take home, with their mushroom boxes, grow-it-yourself bags and their specialty mushroom salt, made from natural ingredients and perfect for adding a bit of extra flavour to whatever you're cooking that night.

Come say hello, grab a snack, and give our newest stallholder the Harvest welcome.

We went round asking people the important question: what are you actually eating right now?

Roti, Afghan pancakes, hazelnut croissants- some patrons have a full system worked out for getting in early before the good stuff sells out. Turns out half the fun of Saturday morning is figuring out what to eat while you shop, not just what to take home.

Come hungry; that's the only advice we've got 🍴

We caught up with a handful of the faces you'll spot walking round Harvest most Saturdays, some have been with us for a few months, others for years, all volunteering up their mornings simply because they love being part of it.

That's what keeps this market feeling the way it does. People who show up rain, hail or shine, not because they're asked to, but because Harvest means something to them.

If that sounds like something you'd want in on, now's a good time to jump in. The weekends are warming up, the markets are only getting better, and we'd love to have you on the volunteer crew.
