Treat mum to a local bunch today at our Earth Market Maitland.
Local flower production for a local market is an important part of a healthy local food system. The right mix of flowers are vital in producing fodder for our pollinators to do the work that keeps our food system flourishing.
This Mother’s Day, we want you to give your beloved Mum, grandma, significant other flowers grown locally.

Imported flowers do not have country of origin labelling required for flowers sold here in Australia. Flowers from overseas are sprayed with pesticides and dipped in herbicides because of Australias tight bio security laws.
Earth Market stallholders Lucie and Marco have combined with The Tin Shed in Medowie, to bring bunches of fresh flowers to the Earth Market on Thursday, 7
May. Lucie and Marco have been selling their local produce in Maitland since the very first Earth market in 2017! “I still remember that at the first market we sold bunches of Zinneas for $5 a bunch! They were an added part of our offering back then – nearly 10 years ago.” Lucie
“These days we have found, through experimentation and the laps of time, the best crops for us which is, growing hardy flowers and producing honey as well as our continued garlic production (maintaining diversity is a key part of our organicfarm resilience).”
Lucie Bruvel
