A Sustainable Life We believe that Fairtrade goods should never be considered a luxury item. You would then think that coffee growers would be just as wealthy as oil producers.

Why Fairtrade is Important

Most of the world’s tea, coffee and cocoa is grown in the world’s poorest countries. Did you know that coffee is the second largest commodity, after oil, traded on world markets? Sadly as coffee growers are in developing countries they have, over the years, been taken advantage of and the current trading systems are not in their favour. Fairtrade empowers producers of t

ea, coffee and cocoa to address this trading imbalance and lift their communities out of poverty. The Fairtrade System provides:

A minimum price that protects farmers from downturns and provides a stable and secure income. A premium which is an additional payment that the community can invest in health, education, environmental or infrastructure. An additional payment for producing organic products. Buying Fairtrade is one of the most effect forms of aid. As consumers we have the ability to make a real difference. Every time you buy a Fairtrade product you are helping to change the lives of the people in the communities where these raw materials are grown.
