As winter settles in, the world grows quieter.

The earth rests. The light softens. Energy draws inward.

This season doesn’t ask for blooming or becoming - it asks for tending, for conserving, for deep, restorative rest.

There is wisdom in the slowing. In the earlier nights. In the pull to stay close to warmth, to home, to self.
Is there space for you to meet that invitation?

To do less, soften your edges, and honour your need for rest?

Even in small ways - a slower morning, an earlier night, a moment to pause - this is the work of winter.

You are allowed to move gently here.

Holding your baby, holding tension…

Your upper back works constantly - feeding, carrying, soothing.

Over time, that effort can become tightness, fatigue, even pain.

Massage supports your body to unwind, soften, and recover from the daily load of caring.

Because your body matters too.

Book your session in-home, or at MIWM-WOMEN'S, KIDS & INFANT CLINIC _ DR AMBER HART (Parkville) or Hatched House 🥚Women’s Health Clinic (Hawthorn).

Your pelvis isn’t one static space - it has levels, and each one asks for something different.

In pregnancy and labour, the way you move can:

🌱Create space at the inlet (helping baby engage)

🌱Support rotation through the mid-pelvis

🌱Make room at the outlet for descent and birth

This is why one position won’t suit every stage.

We explore how to:

🌱Use movement intuitively, not rigidly

🌱Follow your body’s cues as labour changes

🌱Work with gravity, rest, and support

🌱Adapt positions for your unique body and baby

So when labour comes, you’re not guessing - you’re responding.

Working alongside new mums over time is such a privilege.

As a postpartum doula, I’m there in the quiet moments and the hard ones - witnessing the challenges feeding can bring, whether it’s breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or finding a path somewhere in between.

I see the persistence, the doubt, the learning… and I celebrate every tiny milestone as mums begin to find their rhythm. Because those small shifts? They’re everything.
Then comes another transition - introducing solids.

A whole new layer of decision-making, emotions, and adjustments as feeding becomes a blend of milk and food, and the flow changes again.

Parenting is never static. It’s an ever-changing landscape - not just in how we care for our babies, but in how we grow and reshape ourselves alongside them.

And through it all, no one is meant to do it alone.

I’m there to support, to guide gently, and to remind mums that they’re doing better than they think 🤍

How did you find the transition to solids - smooth, messy, confusing, or something else entirely?

Step into labour and birth feeling prepared, supported, and empowered.

Join us on Sunday 28 June, 1–4 pm at Fertile Ground, Fitzroy for a 3‑hour, practical workshop with Fiona Harrison and Julia‑Rose Gribble.

Together with your birth partner (or chosen support person), you’ll:

✨Learn simple, body‑friendly movements and positions to encourage baby into an ideal position and support labour to flow.

✨Explore techniques that create balance and space in your pelvis.

✨Understand the stages of labour, induction options, and how to navigate hospital protocols or plan for home birth.

✨Practice breath, sound and affirmations to stay grounded, calm and powerful.

✨Empower your partner with clear, practical tools so they feel confident in their role – not like a spare part.

Spots are limited to keep things intimate and hands‑on.

Have you had a moment to yourself today… even just a few breaths?

Intentional time for movement and nervous system nurturance has been so important for me recently. Carving out time to move my body, connect with my breath, and not be in demand feels rare - but so deeply needed.

This time is precious. It’s powerful. It brings me back to myself, free of noise, free of distraction, free of everyone else’s needs for a little while.

Movement is medicine. Not for productivity, not for fixing - just for remembering who you are underneath it all.

What does your body need from you today?

The mid-back holds more than you think 🤍

That ache between your shoulder blades? It’s often from hours of feeding, carrying, and leaning forward.

Small posture shifts can help - but massage goes deeper, releasing tension and restoring ease through your upper body.

Let your body be held, too.

Available in-home or at Maternal & Infant Wellbeing (Fridays) and .house Hatched House (Mondays).

Book via the links in bio.

Do you notice that mid-back ache creeping in?

Birth partners: you’re not “just there” - you’re part of the physiology.

Labour isn’t something you watch from the sidelines.

Your presence, your voice, your hands all shape the space.

In this workshop, we show you how to:

✨Recognise what’s unfolding (without guessing or panicking)

✨Offer the kind of touch that actually helps, not overwhelms

✨Support movement and positioning as labour changes

✨Be a steady anchor when things feel intense or uncertain

Because feeling useful changes everything - for both of you.❤️

Join us Sunday 28 June, 1–4 pm at Fertile Ground, Fitzroy.

There’s something so powerful about having a little stock on hand in those early postpartum days.

A simple broth in the freezer, a jar of pre-made soup, or even a few staple ingredients ready to go can be the difference between feeling depleted and feeling gently nourished. Warm, easy-to-digest meals aren’t just convenient — they support recovery, replenish energy, and help the body feel held.

Time and again, I see clients swap their favourite recipes and food prep ideas with each other - slow-cooked broths, congee, stewed fruits, herbal teas. These small acts of preparation (and sharing) become part of a bigger web of care.

Postpartum isn’t the time to start from scratch. It’s a time to lean on what’s already been prepared - by you, your community, or those supporting you.

If you’re preparing for postpartum, think simple, warm, and ready. Your future self will thank you 🤍

A few FAQs about Embodied Birth: Labour & Partner Prep

When in pregnancy is this workshop best suited?
Ideal from around 30+ weeks, but you’re welcome to come earlier if that feels best for you.

Do I need a partner to attend?
You’re welcome to bring a birth partner, friend, doula or support person. If you prefer to come solo, you’ll still get heaps of value and practical tools to take back to your team.

Is it still helpful if I’m planning an induction or VBAC?
Yes. The movement, mindset, and advocacy tools we cover are just as valuable if you’re navigating induction, VBAC or a more medicalised birth setting.

Is it suitable if I’m considering home birth?
Absolutely. We’ll talk about birth plans, communication and navigating the system – including if plans change and transfer becomes necessary.

If you’ve got another question, pop it in the comments or DM me.

And if this sounds like the support you’ve been looking for, join us Sunday 28 June, 1–4 pm at Fertile Ground, Fitzroy – link in bio to book.
