In late 1980s, the influx of immigrants and students from Hong Kong, Taiwan and other South East Asian countries resulted in increased demand for greater diversity in Asian food products in Melbourne. Seeing this as remarkable business opportunity, Great Eastern Food Centre began to explore different channels for imported goods, endeavouring to meet the needs of the new clientele. Great Eastern Food Centre has since successfully developed close connections with a large panel of suppliers throughout Australia, enabling the supply of high quality Asian food products from different countries and districts.
