And this is the reality Silverwood is now looking at. Our beautiful little farm, our productive trees, that some say produce the best tasting cherries EVA, could be surrounded on three sides by wind turbine towers this height, up to 250m high. The closest would be 1.5km from our house. At least 16 towers within 3km of our farm, towering over us, doing goodness knows what harm to our microclimate, potentially reducing our vital winter chill, and certainly testing our peaceful enjoyment of our farming lifestyle. The lively bird population that has made our farm their home now as the trees provide such great habitat, all now at risk as is the cleanliness of our cherries as 2 years of dusty construction activities take place at such close quarters. None of these concerns are deemed important by the developers, as a neighbour we would be offered the equivalent of chicken feed to compensate us. There is no money that could compensate us for the losses we calculate could happen.
