Andrew from Mario's Meats on You Tube popped in last week to do a video with Gareth on supermarket v butcher shop sausages. His main focus was to compare the meat v filler ratios in the different sausages, as well as the quality of ingredients and cost comparisons.
In a world where the cost of living only seems to go up, Andrew challenged Gareth to prove to everyone why our butcher sausages are not only healthier and better quality, but often end up just as cost effective as our cheaper competitors.
However, the biggest shocker was the sausage shrinkage during cooking - are you really getting what you pay for??

Happy Mother's Day Weekend!
Gareth, Eli, Leo and Sam have been up early this morning getting ready for the weekend ahead. We are open all day today and tomorrow for all your Mother's Day delights.
Whether you plan to help the kids cook breakfast in bed for mum, have a family celebration planned or you want to give your loved ones your favourite meal so you get the day off cooking (I've grabbed a large lasagne with the delicious potato bake for my break from cooking dinner😁), we have everything you need to make sure all the amazing mothers and mother figures in our lives enjoy their special day tomorrow.

Welcome to the Team Eli!!
Gareth and I are excited to be able to welcome our third apprentice to the Hunt & Co. Quality Meats team in four years. Eli is a local and has always wanted to be a butcher - it runs in the family as his great grandfather was a butcher also.
We can't wait to see the new ideas and products he brings to the shop as he develops his knowledge and skills in the best industry in the world - butchery!

Butcher Wars 2026 - Done and Dusted
Gareth has spent the day in Toowoomba competing against butchers from all over Australia in this year's Toowoomba Butcher Wars. We dont find out how he went until awards tonight, but we are super proud of what he was able to achieve. Great work Gareth!
