On Saturday The Hearth turns ONE!!

We opened our doors a year ago with a simple idea: a neighbourhood café and providore where high quality food is made with care, the welcome is genuine, and everyone leaves feeling looked after. What followed has been one of the most humbling, joyful years of our lives.

In our first year we served 26,453 cups of coffee, 14093 meals, and 10,175 pastries. But the number that matters most is the one we can’t count — every conversation, every familiar face, every moment someone left feeling better than when they came in.

This Saturday, 23rd May we want to say thank you and celebrate with you! Come in and enjoy cake on us, as well as some exciting birthday specials and more!

Thank you for making The Hearth what it is.
We are just getting started. 🤎☕️

Some of the best things we can do for the women we love is simply slow down with them. Pull up a chair. Order the food that comforts. Let the morning stretch out a little longer than usual.

Mother’s Day at The Hearth is a special celebration with her in mind — warm, intentional, and made with the kind of care that says you matter here.

Bookings are now open. Email [email protected] — grab your spot before they’re gone. 🤎

We're doing something special for Mother's Day 🤎

This year we want to celebrate the incredible makers and artists right here on the Gold Coast — and give our guests the chance to take home something truly beautiful and local.

We're curating a small selection of handcrafted gifts available in-café for Mother's Day, and we'd love to feature YOUR work.

If you're a Gold Coast maker — ceramics, candles, artwork, textiles, florals, skincare, paper goods — we want to hear from you.

To express interest, please email us at [email protected] with:

Hi, I’m Mikka — owner of The Hearth.
I opened this space because I wanted a space where people could sit across from each other, share real food, and feel a little more human when they left than when they arrived.
Joy and nourishment. That is the point.

For as long as I can remember, food has been my love language. Not in a fancy or precious way, but in the way that says: Here, let me feed you. Let me look after you. Let’s share something real.

In a world obsessed with speed, novelty, and online performance, I found myself craving the opposite. Slowness. Presence. Seasons. Ritual. Community. The kind that’s built face-to-face, fork-to-plate, story-to-story.

The modern hospitality industry can feel so fickle — new venues popping up, becoming the “place to go” for a moment, then onto the next just as quickly. It all feels a bit like collecting hot spots instead of building relationships.

I didn’t open The Hearth to be the newest or the trendiest. I opened it to be a place worth returning to. A place where the food tastes like care, where you can exhale, where you can bring your children or your parents or your neighbours and it all makes sense.

Here, the seasons matter. The quality of our ingredients matters. The table matters. And most of all — the people matter. Hospitality, to me, is not performance. Its presence. It’s social nourishment. It’s the antidote to loneliness.

If you’re new here — welcome.
If you’ve been sitting at our tables since the beginning — thank you.
If you feel drawn to spaces where depth lives under the surface, you’re in the right place.

We can’t wait to welcome you. There’s always room at the table.
— Mikka 🤎
