Today we paused to remember the courage, sacrifice, and unity of those who served.
During the world wars, bees quietly played their part — their honey used to heal wounds, their wax to waterproof boots and planes, and their keepers often serving on the front lines.
After the wars, beekeeping became a gentle path of recovery for many returning soldiers — a way to rebuild, find calm, and nurture new life.
Like the poppy, the bee reminds us that even in times of hardship, there is renewal, community, and hope.
