๐ Autism is close to our hearts ๐
As many people know our son has autism, so this cause is one that is very close to our family.
We have been fortunate to have Gavin supporting, encouraging and working alongside him, helping him build confidence and reach his potential. The understanding, patience and genuine care you show make a real difference, not only to him but to us as a family.
As a local business, weโre proud to be supporting Sundayโs fundraiser with the sausage sizzle and helping in a small way to raise awareness and support for autistic individuals and their families.
Gavin, thank you for everything you do, both professionally and through your advocacy in the community. Congratulations on completing more than 372,000 steps throughout May and for bringing attention to such an important cause. Your commitment has been inspiring to watch.
Weโre grateful for your support of our son and proud to support you in return. ๐

๐ WHY I WALK ๐
Because the world is not always autism-friendly.
Iโm walking 12,000 steps every day this May for the 70% of autistic people who experience mental health challenges. For the children who are misunderstood. For the families fighting every day to access support. For the individuals who feel they need to change who they are just to fit into a world that wasnโt built with them in mind.
Autism isnโt something that needs fixing. What needs changing is the understanding, acceptance and support that surrounds it.
This cause is close to my heart and close to my family. Iโve seen the challenges that come with navigating systems, advocating for support and helping a child thrive in a world that can sometimes be overwhelming. But Iโve also seen incredible strengths, unique perspectives and achievements that deserve to be celebrated.
Every one of the 372,000+ steps Iโve taken this month has been for awareness, acceptance and hope. Hope that autistic individuals can grow up in a world where they are understood, included and valued exactly as they are.
This Saturday marks my FINAL walk for the month, and Iโd love for our community to join me.
We have a signed Manly jersey up for grabs, along with amazing prizes generously donated by local businesses.
Then at 2:30pm, Iโll complete my final walk of May. Whether you join for a few steps or the whole walk, your support means more than you know.
Together, letโs create a world that is more understanding, more accepting and more supportive of autistic people and their families.
๐ Because awareness starts conversations.
๐ Acceptance changes lives.
๐ And every step forward matters.
