Renae is a trained psychologist, ex child protection officer and a damn good bar tender:-). The birth of her first
child, Billy, and the realization of how challenging it can be to provide for your family in modern society without having significant detrimental impact on them or the wider community drove her to launch 'conscious being' in 2007. After deciding she'd had enough of supermarkets, Renae started a market stall selling dry goods and pantry essentials alongside local farmers. 3 years later and with the love and support of her loyal customers she has been able to open Renae's Pantry - her conscious grocery store in Palmwoods on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. The Pantry is what a grocery store was supposed to be. A place for the local community to buy life's essential items with the knowledge that they're contributing to the health of their family, their community and the planet, rather than mindlessly taking from it. Renae hopes the Pantry can become a place where people meet, laugh and enjoy each others company...where ideas are born and friends are made...and where fond childhood memories are created. Ben hopes she sells some stuff so they can pay the rent and eventually take down Woolworths - don't ask him about this unless you have some time to spare. Hope to see you...
