We usually post about when families can fruit pick in the Pick Your Own Fruit & Vegetables WA Facebook Group.
However, that group is now charging a subscription to post in their group.
While this is reasonable and understandable, we are not a commercial orchard, and we don't run this as a business.
For us, this is a community project, to help get organised fresh fruit out into the community.
We LOVE hearing from families doing it tough, or people who pick fruit to pass onto eldery neighbours, how much they appreciate our generosity, as we only as for $10/bag to assist our water bills.
We do not make a profit.
The money received only contributes to ONE water bill.
This isn't run as a business.
Hence we won't be able to continue to post in that Facebook group any more.
If you do love visiting our property each winter to pick our juicy organic oranges, grapefruit, mandarins, limes and lemons, please sign up to our email list - see button on main page header.
This may be the only way we can let you know each year when fruit is available at such low cost.
Thankyou to those who have visited us, and who also pick fruit to share with others. 💕
And thankyou to those big hearted families who see the kindness and insist on giving extra funds.
Cooinda, the name of the property, has meaning in being a "meeting place to gather for connection". This was the original name of the property when we bought it. And we love being able to honour the intention behind the name.
