We are looking for outlets that are interested in stocking Nordic Crackers. Our Story:
It all started in 2013 after a visit back to Denmark, where I was born and grew up. Wherever I went, the hottest thing around was home made Crisp Bread. Crisp Bread was a part of our everyday food growing up, but something was totally different in these modern versions to what I remembered. It was tantalisingly crisp, full of healthy seeds and very delicious! My old crisp bread had been re-invented and I was infatuated. As soon as I came back home I had to try making my own Danish Crisp Bread. I made thin, bite-sized portions packed full of wholesome ingredients - delicious! The crackers became part of our diet, as a snack or with cheese or dip. I started giving them as hostess gifts, and used them when we entertained. I received such positive feedback and was often asked if I sell them. A few months later I got the opportunity to have a corner of a friend’s Market Stall. I baked 40 boxes for that event and sold out in a few hours. After that I baked to order as and when my friends wanted crackers. I could barely keep up with demand and sold as many boxes as I had time to bake. At the beginning of 2015 we relocated back to Perth in Western Australia and after settling back into the swing of things I was ready to re-kindle my love, baking what I now call my ‘Nordic Crackers’. Can’t wait to for all of you to try them…

How to make a Christmas Tree Grazing Board

INGREDIENTS

1 x wheel of camembert cheese, cut into small bite-sized triangles, ensure all pieces remain in the shape of the wheel
1 x kiwi fruit (leave skin on, cut in half using a zigzag patter - this will resemble the star)
Your favourite cheeses, cut into stars, large cubes and triangles
Your favourite cured meats, I used salami and prosciutto
Dried apricots
Fresh cherries, stalks removed
Baby cucumbers, halved lengthwise
Cherry tomatoes
Grapes
Strawberries, hulled
Currants
Olives
Mette is Baking Nordic Crackers to serve

METHOD

1. Start by placing the wheel of camembert at the top of a large serving board, this will form the base of the tree topper or star.

2. Place one half of the kiwi fruit on top of the camembert wheel to create a star.

3. Using the triangle cheese pieces, create the outline of the Christmas tree shape, layering each piece vertically down the board.

4. Fill in the tree shape with the cucumber halves, salami, prosciutto and other cheese pieces to add texture and variety.

5. Using the cherries, grapes, strawberries, dried apricots and cherry tomatoes scatter over the tree. Then sprinkle currants and olives over the tree.

6. Serve with Mette is Baking Crackers - these can be placed at the top or base of the tree or in a seperate bowl to the side.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me and been part of Mette is Baking’s journey over the past nine years. To have just celebrated our ninth anniversary on earlier in November 2024, feels like a dream come true.

I am incredibly grateful for all the support you’ve shown me along the way - whether you are an integral part of our team, or if you stock our crackers in store, showcase our crackers on your menus, or purchase our products at markets or online or even if you have signed up to receive our newsletter. Every bit of support helps me continue my dream to bring a piece of Nordic tradition to tables across Australia with our all-natural dip mixes and multi-award winning artisan baked crackers. A massive thank you!

METTE IS BAKING FUN FACTS
When I started Mette is Baking nine years ago, I never imagined that by now we’d have baked nearly 10 million crackers!
• If each cracker was laid out side by side that would equal a total distance of 500kms.
• In nine years our team of bakers have made 40,000kgs or 40 tonnes of crackers.
• Ensuring our bakery runs like a well oiled machine, means we handle each ingredient with care through 13 different touch points. From the moment the ingredients arrive to our warehouse to the delivery of our final product. This includes making the dough, rolling, cutting, baking, cooling, packing, boxing, picking and more. Altogether, that means we’ve lifted and handled nearly 40,000kgs - around 10 million crackers - 13 times over!

It’s stone fruit season here in WA.
This recipe is one of my favourites, especially in Summer when nectarines are in peak season and when they are especially ripe and juicy. This flavourful stone fruit is really something extra special when it is lightly cooked on a hot plate, topped with crispy ham pieces, goat chevre and our Nordic cracker crumbs.
The saltiness from the ham, the creamy goodness of the goat chevre and the savoury crunch of our Nordic crackers all work together to compliment the sweet nectarines.
Plus, this delicious appetiser can be whipped up in just minutes, no mess and no fuss, but is sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests. It really is the perfect start to your next dinner party, summer barbeque or casual get-together.

INGREDIENTS - Serves 4
Mette is Baking Nordic crackers 4 Nectarines Serrano ham, finely sliced Goat chevre Olive oil
METHOD
1. Break Mette is Baking Nordic crackers into small pieces and set aside. 
2. Cut and stone nectarine halves, place on a plate skin side down and drizzle with olive oil. 
3. Heat a frying pan or barbeque plate to hot and fry ham until crisp. Remove from the frying pan or barbeque hot plate and allow the nectarine to cool on paper towel. Once cooled, crumble.  
4. Sit the nectarines on the hot frying pan or barbeque plate and cook for approximately one minutes, then turn and cook the other side. 
5. Transfer the nectarines to a serving plate cut-side-up and top each half with spoonfuls of the goat chevre. Sprinkle the top of each nectarine half with Serrano ham and Mette is Baking Nordic crackers. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and sprinkle with cracked black pepper. Enjoy! What makes Mette is Baking crackers healthy? Our traditional and gluten free crackers aren’t just bursting with flavour - we use pure and uncomplicated ingredients, including a wholesome super seed mix. We are all about seeds, not only for their delicious, crunchy taste and texture, but also for their nutrient profile. Our traditional and gluten free cracker are predominately made with seeds:

Linseeds - known as Flax Seeds. These are a good source of protein and fibre and are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, thiamine, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus. Linseeds contain a group of nutrients called lignans, which also have powerful antioxidant properties.

Pumpkin Seeds - also known as Pepitas, are the edible seed of the pumpkin and are rich in nutrients with an especially high content of protein and dietary fibre. Also a powerful source of magnesium, manganese, iron, zinc and copper, these might super seeds are also packed with antioxidants.

Sunflower Seeds - are the fruit of the sunflower. When dehulled, the edible remainder, the heart is rich in vitamin E, vitamin B1 and B6, magnesium and selenium. Sunflower Seeds also contain niacin, riboflavin, folate, copper, manganese, phosphorus, iron, calcium and zinc.

Sesame Seeds - are grown in pods from a flowering plant and have a high content of protein and dietary fibre, are rich in vitamin B, iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and zinc.
