There’s something special about a first job… and for hundreds of local kids over the last 47 years, that first taste of hard work started in the wash up room at Ashton’s Butchery. 🥩🧼

Long before school formals, apprenticeships, uni degrees or careers, there were rubber aprons, stacks of trays, slippery floors, plenty of laughs and the familiar call of “make sure you scrub that properly!” 😅

The wash up crew has been more than just an after school job. It’s where young people learned responsibility, reliability, teamwork and what it means to take pride in your work. It taught early mornings, turning up on time, getting the job done properly and being part of a team that relied on you.

Some stayed for years, some only a short time, but every one of them became part of the Ashton’s story. ❤️
