Feeling really sad and honestly pretty deflated today… After almost 20 years of making gelato, using our own milk, made by our own team, selling it at our store we are so incredibly proud of… we’ve woken up to a couple of Google reviews that are simply not true.
What hurts the most isn’t the criticism - everyone has different tastes. It’s the accusation that we are selling something we’re not. That we’re passing off supermarket ice cream as our own. That is just so far from reality it’s heartbreaking for the people who work their guts out here every single day.
For clarity:
- We have been making gelato for close to 20 years
- Our gelato is made using Hunter Belle milk from our own cows
- It is made by hand, in small batches at our cafe in Muswellbrook by our chef and team
- We use high-quality ingredients, not tubs from behind a counter
One review mentioned seeing Bulla ice cream in our shop. We’ve double-checked, and this did not occur at Hunter Belle Cheese Room. Maybe these reviewers didn’t even visit us at all?
We put our heart and soul into what we do. To be told people should “avoid” us based on false claims is incredibly upsetting and unfortunately nothing we can do to stop it.
That’s hard to swallow (unlike our gelato, which is delicious to swallow).
