I usually write these in the third person but this one is all about me!
I’m the founder of and am reluctantly doing a video to explain what’s going on. Apologies for the lack of captions, I’m very tired and too many things have started to give. Below is a sort of summary.
Due to a number of factors, rent was late and after a number of discussions the property manger decided that an eviction notice was the way to go. I started the week after the notice, surrendering and had decided to throw it in. THEN we had an amazing 2 weeks! Consisting of a number of projects/ideas coming together, appearing on a puff piece on channel 7 AND we were the highest scoring on the Greening our business assessment! Lots of beautiful people found us for the first time, some through the .crocodillo scavenger hunt, which was a LOT of fun! Then at the end of the week, Veronica of found us last Friday and now we are in the monkey business!
So after realising that the message was not ‘give up’ but ‘get help from the community that loves this place’.
I went through many emotions, and still am, as each gesture/kind word/donation comes in, I’m crying happy tears. Resulting in realising, that for the Dragonfly to be a community hub, the community needed to be a part of what Dragonfly is.
So we are having a massive bunch of fundraising things (as seen on socials) please support us in any way you can. We know things are really tough for many people and we appreciate anything that can be given, even if it’s just sharing the information. Finally, if there is a small business that you know and love go and spend with them, as they may not be around if we don’t support them.
Oh, and the response from our community has been overwhelmingly beautiful! Thank you!! 💕

It has been a lot of years and hard work setting up our little community hub. AND setting things up sustainably has had many added challenges!
Finally, after completing some assessment modules with greening our business, a council initiative covering __ and we scored very well in regard to sustainable practices. So much so that we are considered “Leaders” in sustainability. So proud to of what we have achieved so far! 💚

We are closed this Friday, May Day!

When our government is complicit in an ongoing gen0cide that is now expanding into other countries, chooses to buy drones and slash the NDIS, allows the cost of living to get harder for the ordinary and vulnerable people while allowing billionaires to bloat on our country’s resources, continues to do little to nothing about Black Death’s in custody …the list could go on!!
